Assessment Cultures SIG

Assessment Cultures SIG

The Assessment Cultures SIG offers an opportunity for members to examine their own cultures and values through learning about those of others, forming a collaborative ‘community of practice’ in which “to share what they know, to learn from one another regarding some aspects of their work and to provide a social context for that work” (Lave and Wenger, 1998).

The SIG’s identity is created by the contributions of its members, whose individual perspectives – for example, historical, educational, psychological, sociological or methodological – are variously brought to bear on the work of assessment. Members will come together to study the assessment cultures within which they work, through discussion and the exchange of information and ideas.

Membership of the SIG is open to all AEA Europe members. If you are not yet a member of AEA Europe, you can join here.

These personal details may be shared with the Assessment Cultures SIG Steering Group to facilitate communication and improve services and experiences.
