The annual conference is usually held in Autumn in a European city. The conference is usually a three-day event with pre-conference workshops held on the day prior to the start of the main conference. The conference is a time for members of the association to get together to listen to presentations by key experts; discuss and debate issues; and network with academics and professionals working in the field of educational assessment.
During the conference members can also attend social events which are usually held in landmark historical buildings in the conference city and include traditional food, wine and entertainment.
The last face-to-face conference was held in 2019 in Liston, Portugal. This conference was very successful with an excellent programme and presentations were well attended. Unfortunately, the proposed 2020 conference which was to be held in Dublin, had to be postponed due to the Covid19 pandemic. The 2020 conference became the AEA-Europe online festival which has gained lots of interest from members.
The 22nd annual conference was also held online between the 2nd and 5th November 2021. See more details here.
The 23rd annual conference was held in Dublin, Ireland between 9-12 November 2022. Please find more information at the conference website here.
The 24th annual conference is being held in Malta between 1-4 November 2023. Please find more information at the conference website here.
